Who We Are

Building environmental resilience through evidence-based consulting

Our Approach to Environmental Consulting

Warmotter was established in 2019 by a group of environmental scientists and policy advisors who saw a gap in the market. Too many consultancies offered either highly technical analysis with no implementation support, or vague sustainability pledges with little scientific backing.

We bridge that divide. Every recommendation we make is rooted in peer-reviewed research and regulatory frameworks, but translated into operational language that facilities managers, procurement teams, and board directors can action.

Our team holds qualifications across ecology, environmental engineering, carbon accounting, and waste management. Several members previously worked in local government environmental health departments, giving us insight into how enforcement actually works.

What Guides Our Work

We don't believe in greenwashing or superficial certifications that look impressive on annual reports but change nothing on the ground.

Our methodology prioritises interventions with the highest impact-to-cost ratio. Sometimes that means recommending a £600 waste segregation system over a £15,000 solar array, because the emissions reduction per pound spent is demonstrably higher.

We also refuse projects where a client is seeking our stamp of approval for environmentally damaging activities. Our reputation depends on only associating with genuine environmental progress.

Rooted in Greater Manchester

While we serve clients across the North West, our base in Manchester city centre keeps us connected to the region's industrial heritage and its transition toward low-carbon industries.

Manchester has ambitious environmental targets: carbon neutrality by 2038, significant increases in tree canopy cover, and major investment in sustainable transport infrastructure. We work with local authorities, universities, and private sector organisations to align their strategies with these regional goals.

Our proximity to the universities means we regularly collaborate with researchers on pilot projects, giving our clients early access to emerging environmental technologies and methodologies.
